A short break in Andorra gives you a taste of its mountains. Deciding whether to live here means asking different questions: where you will find a home, how you will get to work and what your family will need in the first few months. These less glamorous details make a real difference to quality of life.
If you are bringing a business project with you, it makes sense to consider work and home life together. The place you choose as your base will also be where you buy groceries, take the children to school and spend the winter.
Start with housing and your daily routine
Before choosing a parish, map out an ordinary week. Locate your workplace, schools and regular journeys. Then compare available homes and work out the full cost: rent, utilities, parking and transport. A holiday visit is no substitute for this exercise.

Healthcare and schools: check your circumstances
Do not assume healthcare cover will be in place when you move. CASS sets conditions for reimbursement of medical expenses and cover for family members. Before relocating, check what you qualify for and when that cover starts.
The Andorran, French and Spanish education systems coexist, as the official report on the start of the 2026-2027 school year explains. When choosing a school, ask about admissions, languages, the next stages of study and the daily journey. The education system matters; so does the family timetable.
Working from Andorra takes preparation
Check which authorisation applies to you on the Government’s Immigration portal. Moving to the country does not, on its own, settle the requirements for carrying out your work.
Your project budget should include housing, social security contributions, travel and operating costs. For tax obligations, consult the official tax portal and discuss your circumstances with a qualified adviser. A general promise of savings is not a business plan.
If your work depends on a reliable connection, check installation and service activation at the actual address. Andorra Telecom’s help pages cover the practicalities of fibre connections.
Mountains, culture and getting around
The country offers mountain activities and a cultural and sporting calendar that changes throughout the year. How much you can enjoy them will also depend on your working hours and where you live.
In our field, music and events, schedules and travel need to be planned together. Whether it is a meeting, a production build or a crew arrival, allow some margin and check road conditions on Mobilitat, particularly when the weather could affect the journey.

Make the decision on the ground
Before committing to a move, visit the areas that interest you on a working day, try the journeys and ask the relevant authorities for current information. That will give you a more useful basis for your decision than any list of benefits.
If you are considering a move, find out about our Hi Andorra service or tell us about your project. This guide is an overview: residence, tax and healthcare requirements must be checked for each individual case. The official sources linked above are in Catalan or Spanish.
