A season for the history books
L’Abarset opened its doors on 30 November 2024 and, thanks to exceptional snow conditions, extended the season all the way to 20 April 2025 — 142 days of uninterrupted activity. The result: more than 100,000 visitors passed through the iconic venue located slope-side in the El Tarter sector of the Grandvalira ski domain.
The figure represents an unprecedented milestone for an après-ski venue in the Pyrenees and firmly establishes L’Abarset as the leading après-ski destination in the mountain range and one of the most significant in the entire European Alpine arc.
The artist line-up: world-class talent
The 2024-2025 season brought together some of the biggest names on the international electronic music scene. Close to 30 events featuring globally renowned artists made up a programme that competes directly with the finest clubs in Ibiza, Berlin and Amsterdam.
International headliners
The undisputed name of the season was Fatboy Slim, one of the most iconic figures in world electronic music, who returned to L’Abarset for a second consecutive year alongside Brunch Electronik. With more than 30 years of career, multiple Brit Awards and performances at the world’s biggest festivals, Fatboy Slim’s presence at a Pyrenean après-ski speaks volumes about the level at which L’Abarset operates.
Maceo Plex, the Cuban-American producer considered one of the most influential artists in contemporary techno and house, opened the Brunch Electronik series on 6 December. His appearances at festivals such as Sónar, Time Warp and Awakenings place him among the absolute elite of the global electronic scene.
Âme, the legendary German duo formed by Kristian Beyer and Frank Wiedemann — co-founders of the Innervisions label alongside Dixon — headlined the first date of 2025 on 3 January. Their influence on electronic music over the past two decades is immeasurable.
Paco Osuna, a world reference in Spanish techno with residencies at the best clubs on the planet, presented his NOW HERE concept on 1 February, reinforcing a long-standing relationship with L’Abarset.

12 years of La Borda Creativa leading the musical strategy
Since 2013, La Borda Creativa has been the company responsible for the artistic direction, artist booking and musical strategy at L’Abarset. Over these 12 years, the Andorran agency has transformed what was once a simple après-ski bar into an internationally recognised venue for electronic music.
La Borda Creativa’s work goes far beyond booking artists. It involves designing a coherent musical strategy season after season, negotiating with international booking agencies, coordinating the logistics of artists who perform at the world’s leading festivals, forging alliances with event brands such as Brunch Electronik and Bresh, and positioning L’Abarset within the international circuit of premium venues.
The result of this sustained strategic vision over more than a decade is clear: L’Abarset has evolved from just another après-ski bar into a destination in its own right — a place people travel to specifically for the musical experience, beyond skiing.
The transformation of El Tarter: from ski village to premium destination
L’Abarset is not an isolated phenomenon. Its success is part of a broader transformation that has turned El Tarter, and by extension the Soldeu-El Tarter axis within Grandvalira, into a premium ski holiday destination that competes with the most exclusive resorts in the Alps.
Grandvalira in numbers: 2024-2025 season
The season’s figures confirm the upward trend:
- 2,320,786 ski days sold across Grandvalira Resorts
- 2.9% growth compared to the previous season
- Peak day: 24,463 skiers on 28 December
- 19% growth in online sales, with more than 68,000 app downloads and 205,000 active users
Andorra as a tourist destination: record figures
In 2024, Andorra received a total of 9.6 million visitors (a historic all-time record), of which 4.1 million were overnight tourists — up 2.9% on 2023. Revenue from the tourism sector exceeded $2.5 billion.
L’Abarset’s role in the equation
L’Abarset’s offering has been decisive in repositioning El Tarter as a destination that provides far more than ski slopes. The combination of elite winter sport (El Tarter hosts the Àguila run, FIS-certified for downhill competitions, and stages the Alpine Ski World Cup), quality gastronomy and an internationally calibrated music programme creates an ecosystem of experiences that justifies longer stays and higher visitor spend.
El Tarter has become a place that attracts skiers looking for one of the largest ski domains in the Pyrenees, electronic music fans seeking a unique après-ski experience, and Andorra’s own residents, who find in L’Abarset a world-class music and entertainment space without ever leaving the country.
Music as a driver of tourism: a global phenomenon
The case of L’Abarset in El Tarter is not unique. Worldwide, music and live events have established themselves as one of the most powerful vehicles for the promotion and transformation of tourist destinations.
The global music tourism market
The global music tourism market was valued at $94.8 billion in 2024 and is projected to reach $475.5 billion by 2034, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 17.5%. The sector directly employs 1.2 million people worldwide, with a further 2.8 million indirect jobs.
Proven success stories
Ibiza, Spain: The benchmark case. Music is the primary engine of an island where tourism accounts for 84% of GDP. In 2024, club ticket revenues reached €150 million annually. The island welcomed 3.28 million tourists with an average daily spend of €192 per visitor. The clubbing industry permanently employs more than 10,000 people.
Coachella Valley, United States: The Coachella festival attracts 250,000 attendees annually and generates an economic impact of $704 million for the region: $553 million in accommodation, $135 million in restaurants, $92 million in retail, $83 million in entertainment and $68 million in transport. It creates more than 10,000 direct jobs per edition.
Tomorrowland, Belgium: The world’s largest electronic music festival attracts 400,000 visitors from more than 200 countries and generates an estimated economic impact of €100 million for the Boom region. It has transformed a small Belgian town into a globally recognised tourist destination.
United Kingdom: The «gig-tripping» phenomenon generated £325 million in visitor spend during the summer of 2024 alone. A single Oasis reunion tour generated an impact of £79.9 million.
More than 75% of festival-goers worldwide belong to the Millennial and Gen Z generations, suggesting that music-driven travel is a trend set to intensify in the coming decades.
Conclusion: the future sounds loud
With more than 100,000 visitors in a single season, artists of the calibre of Fatboy Slim, Maceo Plex, Âme and Paco Osuna gracing its booth, and 12 years of consistent, ambitious musical strategy led by La Borda Creativa, L’Abarset is not merely the best après-ski in the Pyrenees. It is a case study in how music can transform a tourist destination.
El Tarter is no longer just a ski village in Andorra. It is a premium destination where music, gastronomy, elite sport and the natural landscape of the Pyrenees converge to create an experience that draws visitors from around the world. And behind that transformation, from day one, stands La Borda Creativa.
The 2025-2026 season already has confirmed names including Adam Beyer, Nina Kraviz, 2 Many DJs, Gordo, Fatboy Slim (returning for the third consecutive time), East End Dubs, Toman and Wade. The future of L’Abarset has never sounded louder.
